More About President David Berger

It is an honor and a great pleasure serving our congregation for my third consecutive term as your President. I have been and am still surrounded by a lot of energetic, hard working Officers and Trustees since becoming President of our religious family. I am excited to begin this term of President as all of us at Sunrise Jewish Center look forward to a long bright rejuvenated future for our home. There will be a lot of positive changes, programming, and a rejuvenated spiritual experience for everyone. We at Sunrise Jewish Center pride our selves as a warm hamish congregational family. Visitors feel as if they have been a member for a long time. I want to welcome everyone in the Jewish Community to our religious home and I hope you make Sunrise Jewish Center your home.

David works for a computer software company, called Amadeus, in the travel industry. He was awarded top sales executive at our annual Sales Conference for the past three years, and have been in the travel industry for 17 years beginning with Carnival Airlines. He has always been in a leadership role starting at the age of 15 years old as Captain of the Police Explorers in Montville, NJ. He has a fun, part-time job working for Contemporary Services as Supervisor for Event Security. David is an avid Yankee fan and baseball has always been his passion. David looks forward to seeing all of our members, both current and new, in Shul at services and at our exciting events. Please come visit the warmest, friendliest Shul in Broward County!

David is a proud father of three beautiful daughters: Nicole, Selena, and Natalie. Nicole had her Bat Mitzvah here at Sunrise Jewish Center in 2006, along with Selena’s in 2009. Natalie currently attends our Hebrew School. David started his Synagogue involvement in 2001 as Membership Chair and has been a member of the Board and Executive Board for the past 12 years. His daughters Nicole and Selena are both active members of our USY chapter, with Nicole serving on the Executive Board as the Religion/Education & Executive Vice President. David looks forward to working with his Executive Board, the new Trustees and the professional staff in helping guide Sunrise Jewish Center to become stronger spiritually and financially these next two years and beyond!
