More About Youth & Social Media Director Steven Resnick

Steven Resnick was born in New Jersey and moved to Florida when he was about 4 years old. Some could say he has spent his entire life involved with the youth directive.

Steven’s grandparents were advisors in the Hagalil region of USY in the very early 1960s (when they become indirect staff members of now International Youth Director Jules Gutin) before they developed their youth careers and became active on the regional level.His mother then followed in her parent’s path and became the advisor in Hightstown, NJ during her first year of college. She continued as an advisor through about 3 more chapters, before becoming more involved in the region with Steven’s father. After moving to Florida and starting a family, his mother is now the Sub-Regional Youth Commission Chairperson for the Mercaz sub-region of our HaNegev region.

Upon moving back to Orlando from Austin,TX where she graduated from the University of Texas-Austin, Steven’s sister continued the family tradition and became a USY advisor at COSUSY in Orlando, where she elevated the chapter to achieve such high honors as “Hanegev Chapter of Excellence” twice and won the “International Chapter of the Year” in 2008 . After following in his brother’s footsteps by being active in USY during high school, Steven graduated and moved onto Jacksonville University. The summer between his senior and freshman years, he was asked to staff Kadima at Hanegev’s first ever Encampment. This event opened his eyes to how these youth groups really bring a community together. Upon entering his second year in college, he became an advisor for Jacksonville Jewish Center and remained there for about 2 more years.

During his staffing tenure, Steven has amassed a ridiculous amount of experience in our region by staffing various programs and conventions for 2 different sub-regions and having staffed every International Convention since 2007.

Steven has also been trained in the process of the promotion of companies using Social Media networks. Steven attained the title of Social Media Director in 2011 and is in charge of maintaining/creating our web-site, facebook, twitter and much, much more!
